FLUX.2 [pro] (Flux 2 Pro): Uses, Prompts and Nano Banana Pro Comparison

Ask AI β–Ύ

FLUX.2 [pro] is the hosted production tier of Black Forest Labs' FLUX.2 image series, built for fast, consistent results in batches. It is a closed model: there are no downloadable weights and every request goes through BFL's moderation, so there is no uncensored version. This guide explains what [pro] is good at, how it differs from [flex] and [max], how it compares with Google's Nano Banana Pro, and prompts you can copy. For adult (18+) images it would refuse, Spicy AI's image generator runs alternative models in your browser.

What is FLUX [pro]?

FLUX [pro] launched on November 25, 2025 as one of three first FLUX.2 tiers, alongside [flex] and the open [dev]. It uses the same architecture as the rest of the series: one model for text-to-image and editing, up to 8 reference images through the API (10 in BFL's playground), HEX color matching, JSON prompts, typography and output up to 4 megapixels. On March 3, 2026 BFL made it about twice as fast and added flux-2-pro-preview, a rolling endpoint that receives improvements, next to the pinned flux-2-pro snapshot. BFL offers [pro] through its playground and API, and billing is per output megapixel; check BFL's pricing page for current rates.

Why people look for an uncensored FLUX [pro]

Teams like [pro] for its speed and quality, but its filters are not optional. The hosted API checks prompts and images, and BFL's usage policy bans non-consensual intimate imagery, sexual content involving minors and sexualized images of real people without consent; artistic nudity, lingerie or swimwear can be refused too. Because the weights are closed, there is no uncensored FLUX.2 [pro] and no way to run it without BFL's moderation. The nearest open relatives are [dev] and [klein], where unofficial community text-encoder builds exist. If you want uncensored generation, you can do it on this site: Spicy AI does not host [pro], but it offers a similar uncensored image generator for adults creating legal content.

What FLUX [pro] is best at

BFL positions [pro] as the default tier for production: the quality is close to the top tier while staying fast enough for batches. Its value shows most in repeatable commercial work, where the same product, model or brand must stay consistent across many images.

  • Catalog and marketplace images: one product shot placed on many backgrounds in matching light.
  • Brand-color accuracy: HEX codes for packaging, ads and social templates.
  • Ad creative testing: many layout and headline variants of one idea.
  • Reference-based edits: keep a model's face or a product while changing outfit, scene or season.
  • Posters and simple infographics: legible titles, with a human check before publishing.

FLUX.2 [pro] vs FLUX1.1 [pro]: what changed

FLUX1.1 [pro] was BFL's hosted workhorse through 2025, and FLUX.2 [pro] takes over that role. The new tier adds editing in the same endpoint, up to 8 reference images per API call (10 in the playground), HEX and JSON control and output up to 4 MP. It stays a closed, moderated service.

  • Better: consistent products and faces across references, sharper typography, exact brand colors.
  • Faster than at launch: BFL reports about 2Γ— speed since March 2026.
  • Weaker: no open weights to fine-tune, and FLUX 3 Image now offers 4K and layout boxes.
  • Not unrestricted: there is no uncensored FLUX.2 [pro], and prompts that break BFL's usage policy are refused.

Flux 2 Pro vs flex vs max: picking a hosted tier

All three hosted tiers share the same family features; they differ in control, speed and extras. [pro] is the balanced choice. [flex] exposes steps (up to 50) and guidance (1.5–10) for typography and fine detail, and became up to 3Γ— faster in January 2026. [max] is the highest-quality tier and the only one with grounding search, which looks up current web information before rendering.

flux-2-pro vs flux-2-pro-preview: pinned or rolling

Since March 2026 the [pro] tier has two endpoints. flux-2-pro is a fixed snapshot, so the same prompt and seed keep producing the same look; use it for brand work, A/B tests and anything you need to reproduce later. flux-2-pro-preview receives BFL's latest improvements as they ship, so quality can get better but results can also shift between weeks. A practical pattern is to explore on the preview endpoint and lock final production runs to the pinned one.

FLUX [pro] vs Nano Banana Pro

Both are closed, hosted image models that generate and edit with references, so the choice is about workflow. Nano Banana Pro is Google DeepMind's Gemini 3 Pro Image: it leans on Gemini's reasoning and Google Search grounding, accepts more references and renders up to 4K, and every image carries a SynthID watermark. FLUX [pro] is faster to iterate with and gives designers precise levers such as HEX colors and JSON prompts. Neither has an uncensored mode. We have not found an independent, reproducible quality comparison, so test both on your own briefs.

Flux 2 Pro prompt guide

[pro] does well with clear, art-directed prompts. Lead with the subject, then setting, light, camera and style; add exact text in quotes and colors as HEX codes. For edits, number your references and give each a job. Because the pinned endpoint is stable, change one element at a time and keep the seed when you compare.

  • Write it like a photo brief: "adult model in a cream trench coat, rainy Paris street, overcast light, 50mm".
  • Brand work: "bottle label in #0F766E, cap in #F59E0B".
  • Headlines: one short line in quotes and its position ("top center, bold serif").
  • Edits: "keep the face from image 1, swap the jacket for the one in image 2".
  • Reproducibility: pinned endpoint + fixed seed for any image you may need to recreate.

FLUX [pro] prompt templates you can copy

Swap the bracketed parts. The templates describe adults and also work in the Spicy AI generator above.

GoalTemplate
Catalog shot[Product] on a [surface], background in [HEX], soft top light, clean shadow, centered, e-commerce style.
Fashion campaignAdult model in [outfit] walking through [location], [time of day] light, 85mm, motion in the fabric, magazine look.
Ad variantSame scene as image 1, new headline "[text]" at the top, background changed to [color or place], product unchanged.
Seasonal editKeep the person and pose from image 1, change the season to [season], add [props], match the original color grade.

Is there an uncensored FLUX.2 [pro]?

No. FLUX [pro] has no uncensored version: it exists only as a hosted service, the weights have never been released, and every request is subject to BFL's moderation and usage policy. Anything sold as an "uncensored Flux 2 Pro" is either a different model or a prompt workaround, and we do not publish bypass tricks. The open relatives are FLUX.2 [dev] and [klein]; unofficial community builds that modify their text encoders exist, mostly for [klein], but they are not [pro] and their quality is unverified. For legal adult content, the simplest route is a tool that does not add a filter: Spicy AI's image generator runs alternative models for adults (18+).

Make FLUX [pro]-style images on Spicy AI

Spicy AI does not run [pro], so expect a different look. The workflow stays close to a [pro] brief:

  • 1. Open the image generator from the button at the top.
  • 2. Paste a template and fill in product, model, setting and light.
  • 3. Add your own reference photo, or one you have consent to use, for an edit.
  • 4. Generate, then adjust one element at a time.
  • 5. Keep all characters adults (18+).

Try a Flux 2 Pro-style brief without a content filter.
